My name is Violet Talbot, and I have spent most of my life here in Idaho. I was first introduced to midwifery care in 2003 when I welcomed my son with the support of Treasure Valley Midwives. That experience profoundly shaped my understanding of birth and inspired me to begin working as a doula in 2005. After the tragic loss of my partner, JonJon, and our son, Jonah, in a car accident in 2007, I devoted my love for them and its what drove me to be a midwife. I completed the Mercy In Action midwifery program and apprenticed with Treasure Valley Midwives, becoming a Certified Professional Midwife and Licensed Midwife in 2011. Following a decade long break from practice, I returned to midwifery in 2004, assisting births with Brittany here at Family Tree Midwifery. I am currently working toward re-licensure in the state of Idaho. I believe birth is an important life event that deserves compassionate, respectful, and individualized care. Outside of midwifery, I enjoy gardening, cooking and sharing meals, and taking long walks with my dogs.
