Partnering in Ministry
Family Tree Midwifery, Inc. is committed to providing services to women in the Treasure Valley area, but also has a desire to extend that service internationally. Living in the U.S., we often take for granted the choices we have as women to birth where we want to, with the care provider we have carefully chosen. So many women around the world are suffering in childbirth due to the lack of these simple resources.

I met the Penwell family (founders of MIA) when I was a midwifery student. I have the deepest respect and appreciation to the ministry the Penwells have established serving the poorest of the poor in Olongapo, Philippines. www.mercyinaction.com
SIM USA-The Blake Family
The Blake Family serves as long-term cross-cultural missionaries with SIM. Their current (and possibly forever!) assignment is Niger, West Africa. Their favorite way to spend time? Drinking tea with our friends, learning about life in Niger, and discussing the differences and similarities between the Muslim and Christian faiths. The Blakes are actively involved with frontier missions as well as media ministry: getting films and audio bibles into the hands of people who are searching for truth and all of the followup that goes with that, such as watching films on tablets with people, answering questions, starting bible studies, and praying a lot! Sean serves in the SIM office as the Regional Director of Services and Projects Coordinator. Carrie has developed a midwifery curriculum for a new school, taught English, and is preparing to serve with local midwives training and learning from them.
Their motto? Show Up. Drink Tea. Talk Jesus.
